the state meet is not till 11/29/08 but it is won in the preseason. the hard work you do in the brutal summer will pay off in
the fall. kern county runners are lucky that they get to race on the state course numerous times through the year. i

mcfarland boys:

they only lost one of their top seven and have many young ones battling to be on their varsity squad. they have won
nine state titles and i believe this year they will get their tenth.

of course, if you follow the trend, they should get second this year. they were 5th in 2005, 4th in 2006, and 3rd in 2007. i
like symmetry but i hope they skip second and taken down first this year.

by the way, they have won valley 17 times in a row!
