- After alternating between Sacramento and Los Angeles, the state meet will be at Buchanan High School for
the next three years. In fact, this will be the first time the meet will be held at a high school in reason memory (Last time was in 1973). Having covered numerous meets at Buchanan's Veterans Stadium, I know they will put on an excellent meet and they have a world class facility. The weather is the only real concern for most, Forecast HERE.
- CIF-State Boys Team Rankings - California Top 10 HERE. Frontier is predicted to place 7th on matt
Darr's throwing ability alone.
- Throws Preview HERE. Jelemini (Shafter), Collatz (Stockdale) and Matt Darr are feature in this video
preview.
- Jumps Preview HERE. Preview video featuring defending state triple jump champ Johnny Carter of
Ridgeview.
- Who Made State? (Girls) HERE. Brushay Wandick (Bakersfield 12) made state in the 100, 200 and
both relays. Frontier's Taylor Jackson (11) was the only other female track athlete to make State. Though the favorite in both hurdles, she only made it in the 300. In the field events Kern County had more success: Amanda Klinchuch (Liberty 12) made it the pole vault, Shanesha Epps (Golden Valley) in the long jump. Anna Jelmini (Shafter) and Alex Collatz (Stockdale) made it in throws and Lacie Rasley (Shafter) made it in the shot as well.
- Who Made State? (Boys) HERE. On from the track, Stockdale's Nathan Alada made it in the 100, Isiah
Purvis (Ridgeview) in the 200, 400 & 4 x 400, Jerrid Lewis (Ridgeview) in the 800, Chris Schwartz in the 1600 & 3200, and Centenial and Ridgeview in the 4 x 400. like Ragans (Foothill 08') did last year.
