  • There are very few races in Bakersfield in the summer due to the heat so this is one of the few besides the
BTC Summer Series. There is usually a large field despite the weather and many people on vacation this
time of year. Also this race seems to always be on the same day as the Rock to Pier.
  • Of course, many do both. What makes this race different, is running on the very dark at times bike path with
a lot of people with glow sticks attached to their bodies.

CSUBers win the 5k: Ryan Lucker (16:04)  and Lina
    Nunez (20:45).

  • Male 14 and Under 5k HERE. Elber goes sub nineteen for the win.
  • Male 15-19 5k HERE. Elber's cousin takes the win and pulls off a very tough double (RTP & HATM).
Several other local high school track athletes try the longer distance.
  • Male 20 - 29 5k HERE. Lucker has the best double of the day with a 4th and a 1st in one day.
  • Male 30 - 39 5k HERE. Coach Setzer shows the Wolf Pack how it is done.
  • Male 50 - 59 5k HERE. A new sandbox for Mr. Hatley.
  • Female 14 and under 5k HERE - 12 yeard old posts a very good time.
  • Female 15 - 19 5k HERE. McFarland sweeps medals?
  • Female 20 - 29 5k HERE. Yet another doubler excels at the Howl.
  • Female 40 - 49 5k HERE. Boyles wins by six minutes.

The 10k was won by McFarland's Galvin Gonzales (33:
    27) and Amanda Beardsley (42:23).

  • Male 15 - 19 10k HERE. The state 3200 champ takes second behind an old foe.
  • Male 20 - 29  10k HERE. Bacus takes the age group win.
  • Male 30 - 309 10k HERE. Galvin continues his winning ways.
  • Male 50 - 59 10k HERE. Mr. Triathlon takes the win over Klaus
  • Female 15 - 19 10k HERE. A Ram continues her winning ways.
  • Female 20 - 29 10k HERE. Beardsley runs a quick 42:23 for the win.
