  • On the girls side Tijjera Lynch of Ridgeview dropped down in distance and took second in the 200 (27.65) and
    first in the 400 in a time of 60.27. Her teammate Desiree Armendariz won the 1600 (5:38) and 3200 (12:37) as
    well.
  • Kassidy Ellis continue the Frontier tradition of excellence in the hurdles by winning both (16.9/52.06). She also
    won the high jump at 4'8.
  • Jamara Scott of Golden Valley won both of the horizontal jumps (16'4/33'0.75).

  • On the boys side, Driller Walter Hunt won the 100 (11.30), came in second in the 200 (22.58) by one
    hundredth of a second and anchored the winning 4 x 100 team (44.58).
  • In the distance events, the firsts were spread around with Frontier's Caleb Barger winning the 800 (2:03.54),
    Curtis Kelly of Stockdale winning the 1600 (4:42.40) and Golden Valley's Daymon Sandles winning the 3200
    in 10:20.34.
  • In the field events, Anthony Davis won both throws (47'6/130'1) and his teammate Gabe Cardenas won the
    triple jump (40'9) and was third in the high jump (5'6).

  • The Kern Invite use to be a Saturday meet in 2007 with both the varsity and frosh/soph competing. In 2008,
    the Kern Invite was still on Saturday but a was a varsity only affair. The frosh/soph got moved to a Friday night
    and was called the Frosh/Soph Patriot games. This year both the varsity and frosh/soph meets are on Friday
    nights and both are called the Kern Invite.
  • Last year the frosh/meet was a good one and I expected this year to follow in it's footsteps.
